Mount Pleasant Farmers’ Market – May 12, 2018

Dear Friends of Mount Pleasant Farmers’ Market:

Spring has sprung.  It should be a wonderful warm day for the Farmers’ Market.  See you at the Market.  Thanks for shopping at the Mount Pleasant Farmers’ Market, but PLEASE SUPPORT our local full-time groceries during the rest of the week, especially Best World Supermarket.  It is a treasure to have a small, full service supermarket in MtP, but you must shop & support it.  It will only get better if you support it.  Don’t let something worse replace Best World AND Don Juan’s.  Come talk to us at the Farmers’ Market table on the Plaza stage to learn more about the community’s efforts to support Best World.

Market Events:

Market Music: Lamont Park Deluxe – battling accordions; followed by Pedro on guitar.

Bike Clinic — Our volunteer bike technicians will help you solve all your problems……with your bike….

The Sacred Heart Dinner Program – a nonprofit organization located in the Mt. Pleasant/Columbia Heights neighborhood offering free services to the low-income and homeless including free dinners from Monday to Friday, free legal referrals as well as free haircuts and partnering with multiple local organizations such as Thrive DC, Martha’s Table and Capital Area Food Bank. The mission is to provide a place where persons of all ethnic, social, religious and economic backgrounds can share a meal in an environment that is welcoming and which reaffirms their inherent dignity. The vision is to create and serve these guests so that they are integrated into the community and can become self-sufficient.  Stop by the table to learn more.
